Description
Located in the lush area of Turrialba, Casa Turire Costa Rica is an enchanting and elegant place. In this ideal site for exploring, you can experience its interior treasures from Braulio Carrillo to Irazu Volcano.
You can enjoy tours in Pacuare and Reventazon River and travel from the Caribbean coast of exotic Limon to the mystical hidden rainforest in Tortuguero.
All of these diverse attractions can be easily accessed in the area and from the attractive luxury of Casa Turire.
Guests can start directly in the morning by going out to the property’s gardens, where exotic birds and butterflies are regular visitors.
Toucans blend in the canopy of the trees together with noisy parakeets.
The Oropendola birds, with their bright orange and black colours , visit around the pool.
These grounds invite you to witness and enjoy their richness.
The tour of the farm is an experience that allows guests to learn about the operations of a plantation while having adventures.
Private transportation takes guests through an informative tour of the 200-acre plantation, which includes stops in the treatment plants.
Coffee, macadamia and sugar cane are processed in the same area.
During picking time, from July to November, guests can pick coffee as it’s traditionally done in Costa Rica.
There are several lake activities for Casa Turire guests. A small dam, powered by Reventazon River, forms a lake approximately 37 meters deep.
Casa Turire has built a deck and offers non-motorized aquatic activities, kayaks and canoes.
The sport challenge has never been more intense than in the local rivers.
Whitewater rafting in Costa Rica is known around the world, and Casa Turire is very near the best rivers anywhere: Reventazon River and Pacuare.
While the Reventazon River has been categorized as rafting Class V specifically for very experienced rafters, there are less intensive routes which are appropriate for beginners.
For a break from strong waters, kayaking is another way to enjoy the rivers. Beginners can float in the river and enjoy the exquisite landscape.
For those who want to learn to kayak, a kayaking school is located only 20 minutes away from Casa Turire.
Training occurs in a calm and beautiful session in the Pejibaye River.
The school provides all the equipment necessary and qualified instructors.
The principal archaeological site, Park Guayabo, is located about one hour away from the hotel.
Guayabo has fascinating artifacts from the area, which was inhabited from 1000 BC to 1400 AD, at which time it was abandoned.
The excavation started more than 30 years ago and is still happening today. We recommend their knowledgeable tour guides, not only for this but for all tours.
It doesn’t matter how far the guests choose to travel or how adventurous they are.
Casa Turire opens its arms to welcome you to extreme adventures, and it’s always nice to come home at the end of a long day.
Our Opinion
The grounds are beautiful. Upon arrival, you are greeted by towering palms, beautiful flowers, butterflies and birds. The hotel is unique; it is like visiting an old plantation house! Beds are comfortable.
The rooms have a nice rustic feel, are well-outfitted and very charming.
This is rural Costa Rica at its finest! So, remember that Casa Turire is in the country and is not a big-city four-star hotel.
This is a unique small hotel, full of character.
The shower worked fine, and there was plenty of hot water. Nature can be seen and heard from the heavenly private balconies.
The butterflies are constantly fluttering by, and the vibrant birds sing all day. The staffs is very welcoming.
