The primary objective is and was to conserve the rainforest and the environment and combine that with ecotourism and responsible adventure tourism. With this project, Costa Rica has managed to reforest a large amount of land, of which only 10% is currently in use

Horseback Riding

On this tour, you will set off, accompanied by your guide, along the three kilometer (two mile) trail, riding through reforested areas and private farms until you reach the Pino Blanco Waterfall lookout.

Along the way, you will be enchanted with the vegetation of the mature forests along the La Fortuna River, cross the exciting hanging bridge, and find some of the wildlife which makes this area their home.

Upon arrival at the splendid La Fortuna Waterfall and river, you will have the chance to take pictures, climb in for a refreshing swim, or just enjoy the light wind, water and beauty of the river canyon of over 100 meters (320 ft.) in height.

Start your adventure on a 340 meter (1246 ft.) long zip-line cable which begins at an 18 meter (59 ft.) high tower and then crosses the impressive canyon to a platform anchored in the middle of the wonderful tropical rainforest.

The rappel is an 80 meter (262 ft.) descent alongside the Pino Blanco Waterfall. You will descend 30 meters (98 ft.) in free fall, and then rappel the final 50 meters (164 ft.) along a luxuriant green canyon wall.

After descending, you will climb back up on a perpendicular cable ladder, followed by another zip-line cable to the Pino Blanco lookout point. Once you return, you will visit the Maleku Indian Cultural Rescue Center to learn about their traditions and cultural roots, as well as how we can help to protect one of the smallest tribal groups found in Costa Rica.

Canopy Zipline Tour

A genuine, adrenaline-filled adventure in the rainforest that is operated in harmony with the environment.

A three km (two-mile) zip-line expedition takes you to the Pino Blanco waterfall, surrounded by canyons up to 120 meters high (360 feet). The Arenal Volcano and Cerro Chato will be in front of you.

Enjoy the only zip-line tour that allows you to fly over the La Fortuna Waterfall, across a 980 meter cable (over a ½ mile!), at an impressive height.

After the zip-line adventure, you will visit the Maleku Cultural Rescue Center. You can then choose to return to the reception desk on horseback (for an additional cost) and enjoy the picturesque beauty along the two-kilometer ride.
