Brief Itinerary

Join this gay romantic getaway and plunge into the tropical Pacific waters at a gay-friendly destination in paradise! Nine-day tour visiting the last remaining Pacific lowland rainforest of sustainable size in Central America. This area has been called “the most biologically intense place on earth” by no less an authority than the National Geographic Society. Here among Costa Rica’s largest trees can be found Central America’s densest populations of tapir, jaguar, and scarlet macaws.

Day 1

Meet and greet at the Juan Santa Maria International Airport, where your private driver will be waiting to transport you to your city hotel and bring you your travel packet.

Day 2

San Jose – Peninsula de Osa

Good morning! Time to start your romantic adventure in Costa Rica. Take a local flight to Golfito (about 40 minutes away) where the lodge staff will wait for you to take you to the pier where you will take a scenic boat transfer to Playa Cativo. Check-in and enjoy a rainforest and organic farm guided expedition before returning for a delicious lunch. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 3

Peninsula de Osa – Rainforest Waterfall Hike & Swim Tour

After breakfast, your guide will take you to a primary rainforest hiking tour on the eastern side of Playa Cativo’s private reserve. You will visit the waterfall at the Quebrada del Leon, one of the main creeks in Cativo. This hiking tour offers a fascinating introduction to the local ecology and how the different plants, trees, and the rest of the vegetation interact. After hiking, you will have the opportunity to swim in a natural pool. Return to the lodge for lunch and enjoy the rest of your day at your leisure.

Note: From late July to October is the whale season, so you can book an optional tour Whale and Dolphins Sightseeing.

Day 4

Peninsula de Osa – Golfo Dulce Standup Paddle Board (SUP) Adventures Tour

Start out your adventure tour with an easy-to-follow introduction from our instructors. Practice for a couple of minutes and then stand up and paddle away! Sheltered from the wind, our bay seems to have been designed just for standup paddling with calm, clear water in the mornings, glorious sunsets at dusk, and generally a small and manageable surf in the afternoons. Combine a standup paddle tour with snorkeling to add a sense of adventure and nature to your day!

Day 6

Peninsula de Osa – International Airport – Finca Rosa Blanca

After breakfast enjoy your morning and, after checking out, you will take a boat to Golfito and then be escorted to the Golfito airstrip to fly back to San José. Once there, private transportation will take you to Finca Rosa Blanca, which is a coffee farm plantation and luxurious inn that crowns the central valley mountain highlands of Costa Rica.

Day 7

Finca Rosa Blanca – Coffee Tour

After breakfast, enjoy the Coffee and Cupping Tour through Rosa Blanca’s organic coffee farm and follow the process from planting, gathering, drying, and roasting and learn to taste the nuances of one of the premier coffees in the world. Wake up form a dream-filled sleep to the aroma of freshly roasted coffee and delicious pastries. Afternoon at leisure!
